Division Three Football Senior Classic

The Executive committee of the D3 FootballSenior Classic is proud to announce that Gus Ornstein, former NFL  Quarterback who played D3 football at Rowan University will return to Salem Stadium as head coach of the  Senior Classic” North” team on December 5, 2009.  Gus played in the NFL for the Jets , Chiefs, and Rams,  and he serves as a true example of the football talent found on the D3 level.    Presently, Gus Ornstein is the head football coach at the Fieldston School (Bronx NY), and also works with MSG Varsity.   He  has worked as a commentator for ESPN college football games.   Gus recently, as the head coach, guided the Orange Spirit of the CDFL ( Collegiate Development Football League) to a championship title in 2009.  Peter St. Lawrence, Executive Director of the Senior Classic stated  during a media conference held on 10/10/09.  “ Gus Ornstein serves as a true example of the talent level found on the D3 level.  He has the background, leadership , and football savvy to enhance the football experiences of the outstanding players being assembled to play in the Classic.   He has experienced and relates to; the heart, grit, and determination so often found in the players on D3 level”.

The D3 Executive committee also announced that it is assembling the coaching staffs to include present and former D3 football coaches. The head coach for the South is expected to be announced on 10/17/09.
