Rideaux, who last season became LC’s first AFCA first-team All-American, was named to South Second-team on offense and is the first Wildcat to receive such an honor.

The D3 Senior Classic is the premier post season all-star game showcasing the talent of senior players on the NCAA Division III football level.
The D3 Senior Classic organization has partnered with the Beyond Sports Network (BSN) for the player selection process during the 2010 season. The BSN network will host a platform by which players can provide their profiles, general information, and updated stats for the selection committee to review. Player Invitations will begin to be mailed beginning in the preseason and will continue until the November 15, 2010 commitment deadline. 92 players will participate in the 2010 game, represented in a North vs South format. Last year the North won 14-0.

Brandon Drumgoole, a member of the 2009 Greensboro College football team, was drafted by the Hartford Colonials of the United Football League.

Drumgoole was the 44th pick and taken in the ninth round of Wednesday’s draft. He is one of just two NCAA DIII players selected in the draft. Drumgoole is also the first Pride football player to be selected in any pro football draft.

A defensive lineman, Drumgoole led the team with 16 tackles for losses and six sacks. He was picked to the USA South second team and later played in the inaugural D3 Senior Classic All Star game last December.

Prior to arriving at GC, the 6-6, 260-pound student-athlete attended Wake Forest and Western Carolina Universities.

“This is a great honor for Brandon and we’re proud of him,” said GC Head Coach Dr. Randy Hunt. “The UFL is perhaps the World’s second best football league behind the NFL. Brandon has a pro body and we look forward to following his career.”

The D3 Football Senior Classic is excited to announce that the game will be televised on NBC Roanoke channel 10 the day after it is played, on Sunday Dec. 6th from 12-3pm.

“We are proud to be working with NBC to get this game out there for people to see and enjoy. We are excited for the players who have worked so hard to become standout student athletes on the D3 level. Their accomplishments deserve this kind of recognition, and I just consider myself fortunate to be a part of it. The D-III football community is looking forward to watching this talent compete on December 5th.”
