The Collegiate Development Football League (CDFL) is proud to present this exciting opportunity to showcase the Division III Senior Football Classic. The “D-III Football Senior Classic” will bring players who represent 238 D-III football programs, to a North vs. South format all-star game the first of December each year in Salem, Virginia. These players will have earned the honor to play against their best peers in a showcase for all to recognize the talent laden D-III football level.

North Team Jumps Out Early to Win 2011 D3 Senior Classic 27 – 14

  • Framingham State’s James McCarthy named CRONS Player of the Game
  • Springfield’s Josh Carter throws 3 TDs, runs for 1
  • Hardin-Simmons’ Steven Rockwell leads ground game for the South

 

Salem, VA: The North exploded to a 20-0 lead in the 2nd quarter and never looked back, winning the 2011 D3 Senior Classic 27-14.

Josh Carter (QB, Springfield) led the North team with his arm as well as his legs, throwing for 3 TDs and running for 1. Derek Carrier (WR, Beloit) made a dazzling catch in the back corner of the end zone barely getting one foot inbounds to give the North the early lead. Carter connected with the CRONS Player of the Game, James McCarthy (WR, Framingham State) for 2 more scores. McCarthy also filled in on defense and recorded 2 interceptions. Marcus Price (RB, Worcester State) had a big game on the ground, running behind a massive North offensive line.

Steven Rockwell (RB, Hardin-Simmons) and Steven Knight (RB, Mississippi College) led an impressive South ground attack. Rockwell scored on a bruising 21 yard run in the 3rd quarter. Dan Wright (QB, Shenandoah) connected with Wesley Idlette (WR, Maryville) in the 4th quarter, scoring the South’s second and final TD.

With the 27-14 victory, the North improves to 3-0 in D3 Senior Classic history.

Wyatt Hanus Named 2011 Joseph T. St. Lawrence Junior of the Year Winner at D3 Senior Classic Banquet

Salem, VA: The D3 Senior Classic Committee announced that Wyatt Hanus, QB, Dubuque was awarded the 2011 Joseph T. St.Lawrence Award presented by Crons, which signifies the most outstanding Junior in Division III football.

Hanus put together a sparkling season, throwing for 3,490 yards and 44 touchdowns with only 8 ints. He led Dubuque to an Iowa Conference title, an NCAA playoff berth and a 9-2 record, Dubuque’s best record since 1979.

The honor was announce at the annual D3 Senior Classic banquet.

The Joseph T. St. Lawrence Award is presented by Crons.
